Introduction to Project

This course has now been replaced by the full A level, Science in Society with the first AS exam in June 2009 and A2 exam in June 2010. There is a new site for Science in Society with many new resources.This SPU site will be retained until after the final exam in 2009 but it is no longer being updated.

Specification
AQA is the Awarding Body for this course. You can download the specification from the AQA web site. AQA run annual training days to support the teaching and assessment of coursework.

Teacher guidance
The resources section of this web site provides comprehensive guidance for teachers including schemes of work, lesson ideas, web links and other suggested resources.

Text book
Heinemann publishes the textbook for the course which covers everything in both modules and includes coursework guidance for students.

Teaching of Science in Society started in September

From September 2008 Science in Society replaced Science for Public Understanding. The new AS course is an updated SPU course but with the great advantage that it leads on to a full A level in Science in Society.
