1. Air Quality in Mumbai
This exercise uses a news item about a policy change in Mumbai as a lead into a discussion about the quality of that decision and the use or abuse of evidence to critique the decision.

3. Argument - Air pollution
(estimated time: 30 - 40 minutes)In this activity students use cards with different pieces of evidence some for and some against tighter regulations. They can use the evidence in different ways; to construct an argument where the claim is supported by several grounds, to criticise the evidence as effective support for a claim and to learn about counter-argument and rebuttal.

4. Measurement errors
Some ideas for a quick activity to demonstrate the inherent error in any measurement, using thermometers, watches or rulers. It shows how even a simple measurement is subject to both random and systematic error.
