Frequently asked questions
What is the deadline?
Your coursework (all of it with marksheets etc if less than 20, the marksheets if more than 20) should be with your moderator by 15 May.
Who is our moderator?
Your centre should receive by now a package that includes the following: address labels for sending things to moderator, marksheets, envelopes for sending things to moderator and top copies of marksheets direct to the board, a blue booklet with detailed instructions on what to send and how to fill in the forms and deal with any special circumstances. If you haven't got all this ask your school/college exams office...
Where do I get copies of record forms?
You need to send completed individual record forms with coursework and a centre declaration sheet. These forms can be photocopied from the back of the specification or downloaded from the AQA web-site (follow admin links).
Do we have to annotate the work?
Yes. But the interpretation of that is that you need to "indicate" how you have allocated the marks you give (ie this is not 'marking'). You might do this by completing the boxes beside the marks on the record sheet with a brief sentence AND/OR marking on the work where credit has been given for a particular criterion AND/OR fixing to the work a page of notes from your marking and/or internal standardising process.
It may be minimal but it must be there. The more helpful to the moderator (particularly where we depend on you, such as in the assessment of research effort) the better.
