These five activities examine the past, present and possible future of
fuels. Discussion points are included which can be carried out in large or
small groups, and weblinks in the weblinks section help guide the research
activities.

2. Future Energy Demand

This activity allows students to consider some of the ways in which predictions about future energy demand have been made. It allows them to build different scenarios and to discover how starting assumptions will influence projections of energy demand.

3. Argument - Energy use

  (estimated time: 15 minutes)

This activity introduces the basic structure of an argument and allows criticism of some simple arguments our use of fuels.
